Christmas is coming up! A wonderful time of the year. You're wondering - can I set up an extended return timeframe for all orders created within a certain timeframe? Yes, and what follows are the steps in setting this up.
- 1.Increase the return timeframe under Return Settings -> General -> Return-Timeframe to something large like 500 days (the number is not that important at this point);
- 2.Add an Advanced Rule for your Extended Christmas Return Timeframe: if order tag is *order tag from the order*, allow returns;
- 3.Add an Advanced Rule for your Regular Return Timeframe: if days since delivery date is more than X (e.g. 30), then do not allow a return;
- 4.Change the default error message "This item is on sale...." to an applicable message in this case. This can be done in Translations -> Customize -> Select language. Important note: the orders that are eligible for the extended timeframe need to be tagged, either in bulk inside Shopify or automatically using an App like Shopify Flow or Mechanic. This order tag is then used by our Advanced Rules as shown above under 2) and will replace *order tag from the order*.
